Our Severance and Change-in-Control Study covers the following key market practices:

  • Broad-based and executive severance payments for multiple termination scenarios, including voluntary and involuntary separation, and with and without cause
  • Broad-based and executive change-in-control payments for multiple termination scenarios, including single- and double-trigger events
  • Continuation of benefits, including healthcare, in various termination scenarios
  • Treatment of equity in various termination scenarios, including retirement
  • Other key severance and change-in-control practices, including outplacement services

Timing

Our Severance and Change-in-Control Study is conducted once per year with the following general schedule:

  • Data collection opens — March 2021
  • Data collection closes — August 2021
  • Results published — November 2021

Results

Results for the Severance and Change-in-Control Study are provided in a PDF format. Separate reports are created for U.S. and global severance practices and U.S. and global change-in-control practices. All global reports include data for as many countries as possible where there is sufficient information to publish results.


Eligibility

Access to the Severance and Change-in-Control Study is limited to Radford Global Compensation Database participants. All clients are automatically invited to submit data once a year via an online questionnaire posted on the Radford Network®. To check on your company's submission status, visit the input page on the Radford Network and look for the "Severance/Change-in-Control" information tile.


Pricing

All Radford Global Compensation Database participants who provide a complete and timely submission to the Severance and Change-in-Control Study will receive a complimentary copy of overall study results at the time of publication. Custom industry or peer group reports can be purchased separately for $500 each.

Please note, access to results will align to the completeness of your submission. If you submit data for the U.S. only, you will receive U.S. results. If you submit data for all countries where you operate, you will receive full global results.

Radford Global Compensation Database participants who do not submit information to this study can purchase overall study results for a fee at the time of publication.
